Is character education in the public school effective for children of Christian families?
The model for a child’s character would be the Lord Jesus Christ. Although there would be men and women who might be commended for their faithfulness to Jesus, no human being would be more greatly admired and modeled than the King of kings. It is Jesus whom we are to be conformed to. God would tell us that to do anything else is idolatry. Character education must be based on God’s character because it is the only true and worthy character.
For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers (Romans 8:29).
